Living “off the grid” means living in a home that is self-sufficient, but that doesn’t have to require a rustic lifestyle on an isolated property.
In fact, some off-grid homes that are for sale in the U.S. are asking as much as eight figures, offering an abundance of amenities, sprawling living spaces and stylish architecture.
In the latest episode of Mansion Global’s YouTube series, reporter Liz Lucking spotlights four off-grid properties on the market.
In Aquinnah, Massachusetts, on Martha’s Vineyard, an off-grid compound asking $8.495 million features a 6,100-square-foot main residence and a guest cottage.
On the West Coast in Joshua Tree, California, a modern home that’s listed for $1.8 million offers amenities like a rooftop deck and a pool as well as self-sufficient features such as a private well and solar panels.
Listed for $25.9 million, a modern mountain estate in northern Utah combines the off-grid lifestyle with luxury amenities such as a home theater, an indoor hot tub and a 4,000-square-foot deck.
Lastly, a Montana ranch asking $5.65 million is powered by two Caterpillar generators and has other self-sufficient features including an 11-gallon-per-minute well.
