Bangor Man Brags to Hired Driver About His Criminal Activity – q1065.fm

A habitual offender from Bangor was arrested this week, after telling a ride-share driver about his criminal activity.
Kevin Gray, 41, of Bangor was arrested on Friday, November 3rd, after hiring a driver to take him to a Bangor store.
Bangor Police Sergeant Jason McAmbley says it was just after 7:00 Friday night when officers were called to TJ Maxx on Broadway by a ride-service driver. The driver told officials that a man he picked up in his vehicle had allegedly told him there were warrants out for his arrest and that he intended to steal from the store. The man also told the driver that he had drugs, which he then allegedly showed to the driver.
The suspect was identified as Gray who did have multiple warrants for his arrest, and is also a suspect in a case one of the officers had taken just a few days prior to this event.
Police approached Gray as he walked out of TJ Max, but the suspect ran when he saw the officers. They were able to take him into custody quickly and placed him under arrest. A search of his person revealed that he was in possession of illegal drugs.

McAmbley says Gray currently has seven sets of pre-conviction bail prohibiting him from returning to multiple area businesses due to theft charges at those stores.
He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and has been released, after meeting his bail.
