ANN ARBOR, MI — While thousands of Ann Arbor residents are without electricity due to Wednesday’s ice storm, city officials are making plans for future power grid innovation.
City Council voted 8-0 this week to approve a Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships grant application to the U.S. Department of Energy in hopes of securing major funding to create a city-owned sustainable energy utility and to launch renewable energy microgrids in three areas of the city.
